Laos PM Arrives in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Laos Phankham Viphavanh has led a delegation paying an official visit to Cambodia on Monday. His visit was in response to the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen. One of the priorities on his two-day visit in the kingdom is also to visit King Norodom Sihamoni.

Laos Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh’s first schedule to visit was the President of the Cambodia-Laos Friendship Association and Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense General Neang Phat.

The Laos Prime Minister has also laid wreath at the Independence Monument to pay his respects at the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Norodom Sihanouk, the Late King-Father of Cambodia. Then he proceeded to the Peace Palace to meet with Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Laotian counterpart’s meeting focuses on bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations in the post-COVID-19 socio-economic, as well as exchanging views on regional and international issues.

The aim of the two-day meeting is to work on a long-lasting comprehensive strategic partnership and enhance cooperation between the two countries, as well as within the ASEAN framework for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
